Notes
WITH STEM, STEAM, ETC. INCREASING IN POPULARITY IT’S MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER FOR THE WORLD TO HAVE UNRESTRICTED “NO-HOOPS” ACCESS TO THE IMPORTANT MEDICAL, SCIENTIFIC, & ENGINEERING INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THESE OLD POPULAR SCIENCE MAGAZINE ISSUES. Please make that basic right known if these important documents are taken down from IA because of a complaint by some “Big Brother” monopoly. Thank you in advance for defending our rights to important scientific documentation!
Various issues are missing from this 1872-to-1963 set (sorry!). Also, the set-up is confusing with multiple issues per PDF early on. That’s how they were originally posted.
PDF: are image-based files, and have the best graphic and photo images.
PDF WITH TEXT: are text-searchable files, but may have poor image quality.
TO DOWNLOAD ALL PDF'S OR PDF'S WITH TEXT AT ONCE, FOLLOW THESE STEPS.
Click on the down-arrow to the right of PDF or PDF with text.
A listing of all of the PDF files will appear.
To the right will be a gray oval button noting (##) files.
Click on that oval button to start the zipped-folder download.
It's a large download, so it will take some time. Note that such a download is typically throttled, especially during peak-demand times.
Once you have the complete zipped folder downloaded, you need to extract the PDF’s. On a desktop PC, using Windows Explorer, right click on the zipped folder. In the menu select “extract all.” Give the folder a name and location (a default will appear which is same folder name and in the same location). Your device will need a little time to perform the extraction. Once you have the files completely extracted you can delete the original zipped folder.
If you're tech savvy, then download the torrent file by merely clicking on the word torrent. You can use a torrent application such as Transmission (www.transmissionbt.com). Using a torrent download is much faster because the torrent download is not so throttled back.
It’s a bit daunting the first time you download using a torrent application, but if you wish to download free movie and TV-show files here on Internet Archive, you’ll need such an app as those files are often many GB’s. You can even download entire TV show seasons. Sometimes you can download the TV show’s entire run (sometimes a few hundred MP4 files) all at once (e.g., Cannon, The Big Valley).
Those downloaded MP4 files will play on your PC/device or on a television, e.g., using a memory stick plugged into a USB port on your TV or DVD player. Free movies and TV shows – can’t beat that! Thank you Internet Archive (IA)!
Public domain. Pre-1923. FYI: no one can apply a new copyright onto documents they did not create. NO ONE! If anyone tries to they’re just being greedy or have a ginormous ego (or both).
Public domain.
